And one of the girls acting like she is broody - has been sat on the nest for 3 days now but still laying - I'm very confused

How old is she? If she is less than a year old she might just be a bit confused herself. It is possible she is in the early stages of being broody.

22 Eggs (3 days in Row) the first of 4 broodies just hatched her first chick more to come hopefully. Couldn’t take pic since I just went out in the dark to check.

girls in main gave bakers dozen again 13 then Silky turned in 3 not sure will check at nine those might have been after in from the tractor will see if I have 3 or 4 tonight at close

I only got 1 egg today for the first time in months! I'm not sure if it is 1/2 or 1/3 as Mabel the possibly broody sussex didn't lay so she could be getting serious now! Time to start egg planning (I'll give her another period of time to check she really is!).

-got 6 eggs!! We have five hens that are into their seventh year, and three into their third. -just shocking that we still average half a dozen per day. (100 degree heat forecast for next week, so the egg laying will probably screech to a halt)

That is amazing!! What breeds do you have? I'm hoping that my older breeds will have long laying lives (kind of figure my 'layers' I got to get us going will peter out pretty quickly!) - I've already decided not to give them extra light in the winter or anything - just let them do thier natural thing!
