How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

I got 5 today from my 9 girls. My flock started laying again on 4/9. We had a wicked winter with subzero temps & Spring started with several snowfalls. Last week they laid a total of 40 eggs. I just love my girls.

24 Eggs Today, Huh! A third hen went broody yesterday, I gave her 8 eggs (Ice Cream Bars, Olive Eggers and Marans) to hatch. If all these broodies hatch some chicks our coop and run will be pretty crowded with babies. I wonder if they get along.

On side note We had to put our Yorkie down yesterday

Damn I am sorry sorry wish there was anything but the pain is great

26 Yesterday and another broody started sitting couple of days ago (broody#4 Black Copper Marans) so 24 eggs hatching under broodies. It’s truly is a “pact contagion” disease .

One year old Black Australorps will be hatching her first 8 eggs by Saturday, 3 days later another 8 will be hatch by 3 yr old RIR. Will see who will be the best hen mom

8 eggs from 8 birds. As said before I have 6 full size hens and 2 bantams.

Only 1 of the eggs was a bantam egg....

Not really, one of my L F Wyandottes laid two eggs. At least, I don't see any other way to get 3 Wyandotte eggs from 2 Wyandottes.

I know the chicken cycle is less than 24 hours. So, at least in my flock this happens quite often.
