3 so far , but 2 of the pullets are singing and going in and out of the nest box so might get a few more today .

I donated 8 dozen eggs to the food pantry this morning. On Friday I’ll have my hubby take an 18 pack up to school for 1 of the science teachers to incubate.

7 eggs so far but I know there are some more because 2 nest boxes were occupied and I did not disturb them. Won't have time to check again until after midnight.
Did not end u going in to work. Was up at the hospital with my Mom. She had to have surgery. So I got home about 10:30. Collected another 7 eggs, so that puts me at 14 eggs for the day.
I have one hen who is camped out under the coop. I am way too tired to crawl under there and try to reach her. I tried to prod her out with a broom, but she wasn't having any of it. I can't tell if she is one of my older girls ( 4 yrs old) or if she is injured or what. I hope she makes it through the night. I have to be back at the hospital by 7 tomorrow morning. Mom is having another procedure done and I want to be there when the orthopedic surgeon comes by to talk to her. It won't be all good news.

My hen who was wanting to go broody has gone A.W.O.L.
I suspect she's found some hiding place that I haven't been able to locate yet.....

You are going to have a time of it. I had one that did that and we didn't even know she wanted to go broody. Gone for a couple of weeks, figured a fox got her. I saw her once dust bathing and thought she'd come back from wherever and would be in the coop that night. Nope.

Got just one egg today. But this one was from a 4.5 year old hen who laid her first egg this year.
