How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

Some breeds don't lay often and molting, and short daylight hours will slow chickens down also.

I had real good egg production the first 2 years, but this third year is nothing to talk about. I guess that is why so many people around here turn over their flocks every 2 years. And yes, some of my chickens are in molt and our days are getting shorter and shorter. Everything working against the girls at this time in terms of egg laying, but they all appear to be happy and healthy.

Temps we saw here hurt egg production.. Chickens math add another 12 or so to lay will encourage the others too also

So please say how old birds are first .. are others old? in molt?

If they’re not molting and not too old the lighting in the coop should help out. I know you said it was coming so hopefully that will solve your problems.
