How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

Five eggs today. One of my girls has an impacted crop. I've isolated her, massaged the crop for a while to loosen it up and will feed her some rendered beef fat today to lubricate the blockage.
The impacted crop is better already! It feels much looser now and some of the contents have started passing into her gizzard. I fed her some beef tallow and massaged her crop for another 10 minutes.

Day umpteen still no eggs. I've increased food to unlimited feed. 16-18% layer feed plus corn mixed in. I give veggie scraps too when I have them. I even let them forage in my yard yesterday. Idk what to do lol
Well, depends on many factors, such as where you’re located (daylight hrs), how old your chooks are, breed, etc.

Having said that I am astonished that my kiddos are laying eggs, but I do have them in my barn where it’s warm and secure and has lights (I spend a good amt of time with the horses cleaning stalls etc), so that likely has something to do with it. It’s also been a very unusually mild winter here.

So in reality anything goes it seems!

Hope your ladies start laying soon.

I have to do mine by breed. If I try to just count chickens they move around and I start over. Its like all 3 boys check, 3 Wyandotte check, 2 Marans check….
I do that when they are out and about hahaha

3 black pullets- check
2 white pullets - yep
1 grey pullet - ok no wait that’s a grey hen - where’s that Little Grey now…

And so it goes, I have 32 of them!

No eggs yesterday, but found three just now in the Crepe Myrtles. One is sorta spotty, but it busted when I was trying to get it close enough to grab.
These are from my two Golden Comets. Seramas haven’t laid an egg since late September.
Aha, so they're back to tucking their eggs in those crepe myrtles again! Sneaky girls! 😁
