How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

I was just wondering if it was safe.... I don't want to poison anyone.

I know which one is doing it, I just cant get to the egg before she pecks it.

Only 1 so far. My two new girls are holding the nest boxes hostage, yet they are refusing to lay. The older girls won't go to the outside box to lay, so I'm not sure what's going to happen.

Catching up here, again.
been behind due to going to see DR and yesterday for a pre op for a hernia that has returned.

If I get an egg with damaged shell, I simply put the contents on the dogs food.
Tough if it is only the shell and not the membrane, should be safe to eat, as others said.

tally:
Wed, 1/2
Thur 1/2
Friday, today, 2/2 when I was out earlier.

I have not figured out what they are doing with the hay in the nest that they lay in.
It is getting shorter, and lays more evenly in the nest ,and the eggs are winding up in depressions in it.
One hen, Red, may be trying to act broody, and I sometimes catch her staying in the nest well after the eggs are laid.
Would not do any good, being as I lost Roo long ago.
I want to raise more chicks next spring, and try another roo again. See if I can fix the pen so they cannot get out.
I'd love to get a couple or EE's...

As hot as it has been here, I am amazed that they have not decided to take a vacation from laying.
