How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

2 from 3 hens today. Unfortunately I broke 1 of the 2 in my pocket while I was holding one of the roosters trying to see what color the bottom of his feet are. Well the dog was happy, she got an egg with her dog food

Well did you at least find out the color of his feet? Lol

My hens laid 18 eggs today: (17 below + 1 which was cracked so I composed it)



I have 2 coops,
Coop 1: 16 pullets, one 2 year old hen and a rooster. - They laid 15 eggs today. (they cycle from ~6 one day to 12+ the next) - This is the most they have ever laid in a day.
Coop 2 (retirement home): 10-12 2+ year old hens, 12 guinea hens, 5 roosters (one 2yrs old and four 24weeks each) - Only 3 eggs today, normally 2-4 each day.

We just started with 4 Isa Browns. They are laying around 14-18 eggs a week (for all of them). I've been wondering if we need to get a few more. Our pen is big enough to hold more but probably need to think about this. Do you let your's our to pick around the yard? I have been letting mind out for about an hr each day.

I have 4 Isa Browns, two dogs, two cats (the dogs & cats get along great with the girls), one cockatoo, two princess parrots, two burks and 1 cockatial who talks.

Good for the dog! One of my dogs thinks she is suppose to guard one of the chickens. She is very friendly with them.

No! lol. I didn't want to just flip him upside down and hold him by his legs and he didn't want me to either! I'm going to have to enlist the help of either my husband or daughter to help me out here.
