How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

3 Chicken egg's today

Our production is up again. Only one who hasn't restarted after her broodyness, and one pullet hasn't started laying yet, but she's getting redder all the time. Average egg size is up to 38.4g, but that includes every egg we've gotten. I think we're currently averaging a bit above 40g
Great chart! I have a pullet that started laying at 17 weeks. She's been laying for almost 2 months and still has tiny eggs (40 gram range). My pullets that just started laying at 23 week are producing extra large eggs already (62 gram average). I'm thinking it is better to have them start laying later. :)

For us it's the Alho's that make the smallest eggs, and they started at I think 22-26 weeks. Still pretty small eggs. The EE and Marans are making a lot bigger eggs and both of them started at 19 weeks. But the Alho's have upped the size by almost 30% already too, so I still have hope for small to medium eggs from them. They're really productive (when they're not broody), so that makes up for it a bit. And the taste is great, they really like to forage.

One of my hens laid a very white egg.

They are brown layers so what caused this? Also I get one egg with double yokes almost every day from my flock. Is this safe for a hen to do that every day if its from the same hen? Am I causing the double yoke in some way?

I don't think I've posted in a couple of days.....
Monday, 9/1. 3/4 with 3 pullets still not laying
Tues, 9/2. 2/4
Wed, 9/3 2/4 (so far, I am still holding out hope that my 2 1/2 year old BSL will still lay today. She needs to lay today to keep up her weekly average :))

I got 5/6 today, still waiting on 5 girls to lay. 4 of my girls are going to their new home today though, so my numbers will drop. :-( I've raised them for the last 5 months so it's hard. lol. I get attached so easily!!!!
