How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

I have put my coat on and found an egg in the pocket a couple of times .....one day that is going to result in a mess.

I hope your luck lasts! I have considered putting an egg in my pocket....for, like a second. I know myself too well--that egg would never make it out of my pocket in one piece.

Got one today. I'm still waiting to get more than one egg in a day, but one is better than none!

5/10 again...what the heck? Just when I get the pattern mapped out they switch things up on me! Should be 7, 2, 5, 7 etc. Goofy chickens!

But on a positive note, Scout is out there now and seems to be adjusting well as long as he can reach his hidey-holes. One is half a log with the cut side down and the other is his little pen. For those of you who have followed his progress, I've posted some updates on his page which you can find by clicking on his link in the signature. Today is Thursday - we were going to cull him on Monday but he got a stay of execution.

My dom eggs are very light. A beige/flesh color......is that called light brown in the chicken world?

I got two eggs today.

I think they would be called light brown but I'm new to chickens this year so not certain.

Had to carry four 5 week old chicks from the yard back to momma in the coop. At least they don't run from me any more. I put my hand down and they come right to it for a free ride back to their family.
Can't wait for them to be too big to get out of the fencing.

Nope, haven't done that yet, but I'm sure it will with one of those late afternoon eggs that I put in my pocket. And yes I was pretty sore for about a week. Not only was it hard ice but the ice was on top of pavers. Just glad I didn't break something that time.
