I live in the south of Catalonia, near Tarragona, but sometimes visit Barcelona. Been to the Pyrenees once, but on the Spanish side. Beautiful place, really is.

From your writing, I'm guessing you're either American or British. Am I correct? If so, how'd you come to love in Terragona, other than the fact that it must be fabulous?

I have about 15 2-dozen containers.  I'm going to need more .  I figure at a worst case scenario, I don't know too many people who raise chickens but I know a lot who like to eat eggs--I'll trade eggs for a way to safely store other eggs.  As my chicks have grown, I have found out that the answer to world currency problems may be to trade eggs.  Eggs from backyard grown chickens seem to have more value than dollars in my social circles at this point.

I've been laid up with a badly fractured ankle (plus dislocation and torn ligaments) for the past month, and people have been only too happy to help out since they've discovered that I repay their kindness with eggs. Before I fell, I bartered with them quite often, too. Finding it difficult to get organic, free-range, infertile eggs is how I finally came to own chickens. Problem solved. Turns out some people would swap their 1st born for a dozen, so I have no problem getting rid of the excess.

A friend gifted me with 50 new cartons at Christmas, to show his appreciation and, I think, to keep them coming. Got a birthday coming up anytime soon? It's an inexpensive and much appreciated gift.

5 from eggs from 8 layers (2 small pullets wont lay till aug) yesterday......6 eggs today from the 8...heat slows them down
