I don't know what my chooks are doing but my layer must be feeling guilty for not laying as I got one today

15 eggs



8 eggs from the control group

7 eggs from the free range chickens and yes I did find a little nest under some stairs

Temp 84F degrees with some 15MPH winds all day

Something came by and had the geese, chickens and guinea all calling out warning a noise they rarely make but I could hare the panic in their noise anyway I went out with the big spotlight and checked out the yard and found nothing but the geese followed me around the whole time I searched the yard for a predator but I found nothing and with in a half hour the noise level was back to normal

Can anyone tell me what mites/lice look like on my isa brown chooks. When I went to check for eggs this morning, big momma let me pick her up for cuddles/scratch and I noticed a few black ant like/ head lice things on her feathers. Are these signs of mites/lice? Pls help and how do u treat it

Gander those Houdans are adorable! I must control myself and not search for some now. Think I have reached my husband' limit with my birds this year. I mean I tried to let the EES hatch with no luck yet maybe I should ask him to try again despite the 11 JG due this week. Chicken math really kicked in this year. Added quail, black australorp and guineas. Do I need help or just another coop?
