oh my goodness! That is awful and I'm sorry she had to go thru that. She broke her leg awhile ago when got caught under the run door(swing in) but thriving, can even fly up to 5 ft height of roost, she was very mobile and laying and gets along with others but the sudden storm must have spooked her to hide in a corner of the unroofed run instead of the coop or the covered run for shelter while I was gone.
I was busy at work Saturday didn't come home till late, she was stucked in one corner, others pecked her butt feathers and was soaked wet from the rain and some blood. Dried her up and put her in the coop for the night since the wound was not bad, just missing feathers and mild pecks.
Sunday morning didn't wake up till late 9am, she was in the run dead, her butt pecked an inch deep, was horrifying. My fault, I should have separated her from the rest, didn't think some hens can be cruel to eat her.
