How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

10 eggs today & discovered lice or mites (which ever ones are greyish white.) Ugghh! I hate battling those buggers, and of course I just added 2 bran new large bags of shavings I'm sure those are contaminated now & will need to be discarded. I think I'll go ahead and down size that coop in preparation for winter. I've never done that before, but I know what a tough battle it is against those little bugs and I know that fewer birds will make it easier to manage.

Time for more coop modifications.

Our coop floor is dirt because considering our original time line to build something liveable a lot of details were overlooked (like rain proofing the roof properly) anyways so I walked out to the coop to check on everyone and check for eggs and one of the girls was standing in the yard. Just hanging out. She dug a hole under the corner of the coop and escaped. We haven't done any predator proofing yet because we do hope to move eventually, sooner rather then later. And at this point we haven't had any unwelcome visitors. So go figure that instead of something getting in I had a girl get out. And not by flying over the fence like 2 of them normally do. Doggone chickens.

@sawilliams Sounds like lots of fun your in for I have pony walls in and out on mine
they are 14 inches high each side.. not sure if that is anything that might help

Ok I think I got it. But she dug under the coop wall not under the run fencing. I need to build a brick base of some sort under the coop without having to move it

@sawiliams Oh what fun you will have
looks like I am sitting at 7 for the day of
18
