How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

Yeah 28 for a low in December, I'll take it. I'd like to move down your way, one of the Carolinas or Tennessee in the mountainous region, sometime in the future. GC

Yesterdays count was 2/5. My Orpington Gracie, was quite fascinated with my new shipment of chicks so she didn't move too far away from their brooder. I'm hoping she's not going broody on my but she might be.

We have consistently been getting a dozen eggs a day. Including our 3 Bantam hens laying daily. Today we got 15. It's snowing and cold but the heated coop must be doing a good job of keeping my chicks happy!

Wahoo!! I'm so excited. We got 4 eggs today. Pretty sad but its been a dramatic December so far for the girls. I haven't had 4 since 28 Nov then before that it was 19 Sept. The girls are doing well with the lights so far and hoping we get a full basket before long

We moved here in May when my husband finished with the Navy. I grew up on the PA/NY border and we lived in Maine for a few years curtesy of Navy. So I can say that I fully appreciate how beautiful a low of 28 really is. On that note I more worry about our hens dealing with heat than them being chilled in their insulated coop.
