How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

Hi Gander, well I did get to stay home today, but I spent the day on some much needed work around my house. I cleaned out the big barn (chicken coop 10' x 12') and put down clean shavings, let all the chickens out to free range, burned 2 big piles of paper documents, did 5 loads of laundry, cleaned out some cabinets to make more space available, boxed up some dishes to set aside for my daughter ( I'm getting my parents every day dishes to use instead), cleaned out my closet and around the house and have 3 large black trash bags full of stuff for goodwill, and unpacked 2 boxes that came from my parents house to mine. Sadly, I still have tons more to do! However, since I have to work in the morning and then go drop stuff off at my parents apartment for them in the early evening, I'm calling it quits for the evening. I do have plans for the upcoming weekend. I am going to go to a Girl Scout volunteer weekend. We will camp in lodges and I'll be able to hang out with one of my best friends. We usually try to get together a couple of times a month, but it's been months since we've gotten to get together. So, I'm looking forward to that!
Tomorrow, Monday, is when my dad goes to a cardiac specialist to see if he is a candidate for the mitral valve clamp procedure. Hopefully, he will be!

All 4 coops laid at least 1 egg today! (except the meat chickens, but I don't expect them to). So I ended up with a good egg count of 8 eggs today.

I hope everyone has a good week

Not enough day light and about half of them are 3-4 years old. Some are still young and/or others are not breeds really known for production. Only things I can think of. Even so, it would be nice if at least a third of them were laying regularly.

4/5 today. One girl in nest box, hope to get another at lock up.
Snow forecast for tomorrow, upto 2" predicted.
Chickens hide a ceramic egg, I looked all around, could not find. GC

Mine play football with the ceramic eggs. They've actually rolled them out of the nest box and kicked them out into the run. And sometimes they bury them in the straw. You'll find it eventually.

I found it. You were right, it was buried in the nest box under 4 inches of straw. I checked every square inch of the box that was missing the egg. It was not in a corner, but was half way down on the left side.
Update on egg count, found 1 at lockup. 5/5 today. GC
