How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

First we want 1 egg
Then we want more eggs
Then more egg colors
Then different breeds
Then one day we walk outside and find we own a chicken farm! Bahahaha

Question:
From your initial decision to get chickens, do you have more than, less than, or the exact amount of chickens you decided on?

Um, more. WAY more.

I wanted a few chickens for yard candy, just to free range and look nice. Maybe 5-7? Not even for eggs!
From a lovely lady I got 14 chickens....+ 2 young foxes = Predated to 5 (3 roosters, 2 hens)
One rooster from another place.
Built an incubator to reincarnate the chickens through the eggs. Hatched 3 chicks
Set ALL the eggs from the two hens.
Bought 7 chicks and 5 chicks and 9 chicks and took in 11 chicks.
Incubated all last year. Um, ya...now I'm sitting about 140 or so chickens.
I'm suffering from multiplicatious!

Evil chickens! Very, VERY evil.

Oh boy, definitely more than!!! Wanted 9. Hatched out 2 out of 8 eggs. Given 8 chicks. Bought 18 eggs via auction on BYC. Received 20 eggs. Those are all in the incubator. All showing progress so far. Hmm... if even half Hatch out, that takes me to TWENTY BIRDS! Granted, I have current cockerel that I can't keep (5). Hmm... maybe I'll still be around the 9-10 mark if these eggs hatch. WHICH means, I can always add "just a COUPLE" of more...
LOL

That's a true statement! I decided on 6, was going to get six and walked out with 10 just in case ya know

Then sold 4 that I didn't care for and bought a cockerel. So now I have 7 and thinking about a odd ball coop to add. Not that I need eggs since I have 5 dozen in my fridge.

Ive been researching how to freeze eggs so I dont look at all the eggs and come to realize i have more chickens than i really need!

I'm kind of wondering myself why I have so many some days...lol.

It's pure craziness.
I sure love 'em though.
Getting it stream lined and easier as time goes on.
Two nests have been added.
Most eggs I get on the floor are 3 (today)...most days it's none now.

It would help if the one Silkie girl wasn't setting so hard (again

) and taking up a nest.
I'm gonna have baby golf ball chicks hatching soon!

21 eggs today
3 were on the floor so they'll be fed back to the girls.

Can I ask your opinions on an egg color?
The egg in question is the top right. Sort of second row down and 3 across.
This is a new layer...didn't have this color last year.
What color is does this egg look like to everyone? Is it brown? Olive?
The pic is a true representation of it's real life color. I cracked out the cannon.
