How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

21 eggs today 3 were on the floor so they'll be fed back to the girls. Can I ask your opinions on an egg color? The egg in question is the top right. Sort of second row down and 3 across. This is a new layer...didn't have this color last year. What color is does this egg look like to everyone? Is it brown? Olive? The pic is a true representation of it's real life color. I cracked out the cannon.

Chicken eggs 8, two of the eggs will be set aside for the incubator .





Temp, high 60's I had to turn the burner off on the stove as it was just to hot in the house and the celling fan was turned on in the living room this afternoon . Clear skys and no wind at all today .

My hubby was right. I was wrong.

I thought it looked like a med chocolate brown when I brought the eggs in last night. Today in natural light it does indeed look olive...lol. Those girls (and roosters) keep me guessing. Now to catch who's laying it and figure out who she's from...lol.

Ive been researching how to freeze eggs so I dont look at all the eggs and come to realize i have more chickens than i really need!

Let me know if you have any success! I've been looking for ways to use them and have actually gave some away. I had planned to eat some for breakfast every day and make a big breakfast on Saturdays for the family but I'm up to my eye balls in eggs.

I picked some up last weekend because I'm out of recycled egg cartons that I had built up. I'm way out in the sticks with not much traffic other than deer lol might put them on the local yard sale sites.
