How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

16 hens of varying breeds and ages....

Lately I have been getting 6 dozen a WEEK ... averaging between 10-14 per day.

Neighbors and some young soldiers and their families are being given the excess.

15 eggs today. It was a beautiful day, got up to 86 degrees and the sun was shining!

We had sun also but only 55 I had 15 today of 18 my brother came by 18 months older than I turn I am 57 before he hits 59
looking through photo's he was taking home as I have all from Ma's place after she died

I remember when you were there last year and were watching the goose (or was it a duck?) that sitting on a nest. As I remember, she never did hatch any eggs.


13 eggs today. Still not sure how many chicks hatched under the broody.

Yes Karenerwin, momma duck did try several times to hatch out some eggs with no favorable results ....

Turkey eggs 3, one of them was broken

Temps for the last three days in the low 70's heavy winds and clouds with a bit of rain Saturday morning but not enough to get the ground damp .

It is spring time and the flowers are blooming .



With a lot of different colors to choose from .



And what diversity .

I have all the pictures from my parents house. Will need to get my brothers and I together, maybe this summer, to go through them all. Was able to put together a real nice slide show for Dad's memorial. Found pictures of him my Mom didn't remember ever seeing before.

My daughter flies back today, leaving in 3 hours, she'll be glad to hear that the snow has melted!!

I love all the desert flowers. I especially like the blue ones in the first picture. Glad to see the donkeys looking healthy. That momma duck sure has her hands, er... wings? full with 12 little ones running around!
My broody with the 1 chick is a new Momma, she's doing pretty good, although I have seen her step on her own chick at least twice

but so far the chick has been fine. The other broody's eggs are due to hatch on Wednesday. Hopefully, she'll be more successful. Plus, I am hoping the lone chick will be able to socialize with the new chicks, you know, flock together as they leave their Momma's, so she won't be a lone chick in a yard full of adults.

It looks like we are set to have another beautiful day today!!
