18/30 Sunday & 29/30 Monday, anyone have experience w/ Welsumer? They're my noisiest hens When laying.

A broken egg in nest at 5 am. 4 good eggs at 9 am. GC

Finally did get my BF Richards birthday present really rips my cord bought the damn thing on the 5th his birthday the 4th just was able to pick it up today thanks Walmart bunch of ripoff no go jerks.. but had to say lets stop at tsc ooops picked up 10 cuckoo marans with Dominique mixed in so not sure at this point how many I have of one or the other and of course straight run so could all be cockerel in which case will not keep any

3/5 today and the Wellie eggs are going back to their darker brown color. Still scratching my head over that one.

The rir girls are back on track 6/6 again today

Got 3 silkie (Edit: 4) silkie eggs from my girls so far as the young hens have come into lay, and 7 quail eggs from my quail hens.

7... because the 8th one broke when I was collecting it by plastic bat decoration that was hanging on the outside of the cage falling into the basket and it's foot went right though the egg. I dropped it into the chicken food tray as I walked past it to put the intact eggs away and the chickens gobbled it up within seconds. The boys gobbled up almost all the yolk though before the hens shoved them out of the way.
