1 Swedish Flower Hen and 1 SF cock, 2 Lavender Araucanas (1 broody), 2 Norfolk Greys (the late starters; but very nice birds, one of them's really elegant), and the RIR (who prolapsed).

I was so busy yesterday i think I didn't collect any / many but there were 4 this morning but i think 2 from 2 hens so wondering if my Sussex has gone off the lay (hoping she isn't thinking about going broody again - broody coops are full!).
Yep, the 2 silkies that went broody again I bought a mix of marans and cream legbar eggs that they are on. the breeder was worried about the fertility as he'd lost one of the CL roos so he ended up giving me 24 eggs for the 12 I paid for - I have about 7 in the incubator, howvever I candled them today and ofthe 7 in the 'bator only 2 look OK - gutted. Need to look better when it is dark! Are you still letting your broodies hatch?
I agree with Penny, however she didn't mention that they slow way down the older they get. A 5 or 6 year hen will probably only lay an egg or two a week instead of laying an egg almost daily. Also would like to know how many years can you expect to get eggs from the hens??
