I got 4 out of 6 today. It got to 100 here today, I think the city was much worse. All my chickens were on the roost tonight, I was a little worried about the 5 year old Faverolles, she was panting pretty hard for a while but found some damp dirt to stand on in the shade.

Several members on our local Facebook Chicken group took their chickens in the house. There was a cute video of a hen standing over the ac floor vent! Wish I could post it here! Another member said a child sized mask made a perfect chicken diaper!
It wouldn’t have helped to bring them in my house, it was hotter than the coop!

11 today. I see Ideal Poultry has hatchery choice bantam Cochin for $2.05. I want some but that would mean high pressure building project. In this heat, no thanks. I will have some… just not today.

Big girls gave 11 today took the color pack 3 to the main coop going to a local poultry auction on the 10th getting some banty replace my girls.
