Eight yesterday. I am surprised at that, since it is still out outside. My Silver Sebright, Quartz, has been scratching around in the makeshift nesting box. I hope one of the pullets of the Gemstone Flock decides to lay!
The Gemstone Flock's first egg has finally come! One of the Sebright Bantam pullets must have laid it yesterday, because I had not seen it when I checked in the late evening. Recently, I went back to the Gemstone Flock and saw that there were two more white eggs! That means both Sebright Bantam pullets are laying, and now we only have the Rhode Island Red Bantam pullet to go!
For those of you who do not know, the "Gemstone Flock" is a nickname I have given to the flock of four bantams I purchased a few months ago. We gave them a makeshift "nesting box" a few weeks ago, and they scratched all of the bedding out.
