Yes I’m afraid it is the season is trying to change. I’m a more of a Winter fan as I get older.

Snow here today - I’ll send it your way

Can’t wait to see the chickens reaction when I get home and open the door to snow.

Still getting lots of eggs, and the odd brittle shelled one.

Martha went broody over the weekend.

Monday: 3
Tuesday: 0...wait, ZERO?

Looks like one of my hens decided to take the day off, so 6 eggs today... unless she decides to lay one this evening.

17 lovely eggs, though two were a bit grimy, with yet another soft broke egg from poor Petunia in one of the nestboxes.

I cleaned the first egg, put it in a safe location, then started on the second grimy egg, then carefully …… ooops, plop! It fell upon the brick pavers thus providing a marvellous treat for the rest of the pack so make that 16 eggs.

Four today, plus another fairy egg.

Martha's still broody but she switched nesting boxes. I'm wondering if the eggs she was sitting on for two days are still okay.

Two days on. She was on last night about 9pm. She was off them at 5pm today.
