How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

I think my chickens are getting ready to molt. I've seen a few large feathers laying around and their egg laying has become kind of erratic. Eggs laid in unusual locations instead of the nest box, poor quality shells and soft shell eggs, fewer eggs, etc. It's probably about time for their molt since they're nearly 17 months old now.

I am eggspecting my kiddos to start moulting - it’s starting to turn cold so ‘why not lose all your feathers and freeze your butt off’ I say.

Couldn’t moult when it was 35c nope that would make sense!

Oh and 9 eggs today!

I got 4 today. I think I got 6 yesterday and I weighed 1 really large egg and it weighs 79.1 grams.

Four today, but actually several must be from the last few days that were hidden that I just found. Sis says she got one Golden Comet egg today. I was on the porch a few minutes ago and shifted an empty cardboard box that my nephew is supposed to take out to the trash. Saw something g rolling around and found three Banty eggs. I’ve been seeing Goldie on the porch a lot lately, but I thought she was just visiting Jade in broody Banty jail.

A few weeks ago it started out with 2 then jump to 4 and then 5 for about a week now 6 today. All were from our 3.5 mth old Isa Browns. They are all 4 mths. We saw one of our Speckled Sussex in one of the next boxes today. A couple of them are getting red in the comb and wattles so those will be next.

That's about the same thing my chicks did
I'm still only getting 7 eggs , got 8 chicks
not sure which one isn't laying yet.

Four this morning. I started on my chicken chores this morning. Mixed up some oyster granules, eggshells and grit and filled up the little boxes. The feed bin needs another day or two before it's empty enough to refill, and I'll clean and refill their waterer at the same time.
