How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

Got 2 today. Haven't checked back out there because today has been busy. Birthday breakfast with my husband and then had some stuff to do in town and then my son, daughter in law and I went to dinner for my birthday. I'm still trying to get over the cold that I got on Christmas morning so I'm really tired.
It's your birthday?

Well happy birthday! :ya:woot

And also,
Get well soon! :hugs

Only 6 yesterday! I'm so glad they took a day off it was 3 days in a row of 12 eggs

Maryanne is starting to sit a nest but hasn't laid yet -- she's the first one I've seen that sits and sits and nothing happens. She's something like 34, 35 weeks old (I stopped keeping track) and still no eggs.

She is a darling, so if her egg maker doesn't work I don't care in the slightest, we love her so much.

Dorothy and Pepper still not laying, but Pepper has begun to squat :D

Last year I had all my pullets not start laying until almost 40 weeks, the winter shorter daylight hrs will affect their laying.

Another one in the Crepe Myrtles today. She’s laying deep enough in that I have to rake the egg closer to reach it.
And a bonus egg from Banty Jade right at lunchtime! Her eggs are just big enough I can’t close my finger and thumb.

2 for this morning. Have a sparrow hawk when I first saw my hens feathers near the fertlized egg nest (in my heart) it couldn't be my stray cats they not like that, to bother the birds. Afternoon went into the hay barn and out flew a sparrow hawk.. First time in 24 years to see the hawks this close it has to be the gatherings of the little wild birds that have shown up since I feed outside the barn. Shame to bother my hen on her nest. Looking at getting bird netting to lay over the barn opening to stop the sparrow hawk. Still love seeing the prey birds up close beautiful creatures. Horned owls, snow owls, red tail, sparrow hawks, and at one time an eagle would purch on the light pole, and my Ravens one named oliver and his girl friend. Sad thing is the stupid kids with their pellet guns killing them that I don't see the bigger birds like I use too. Breaks my heart...

sorry rambling lol... 2 eggs today lol
