I don't understand that prejudice against this amazing breed, but I faced it too. One of the ladies I rode with (long ago and far away), on seeing my half-bred, Crystal, actually SNEERED with curled lip and said, "Eeeww, I thought you said you had a HORSE." But we showed her when we ran away from her on her Appy and the others on their QH's, they all at a lung-aching gallop and Crystal at a smooth, mile-swallowing extended trot, lol. I had to keep circling her to let them catch up, then off we'd go again, leaving them in her dust. Honestly, it was like flying! She would love that - she loves being brushed and fussed over. Yes she is an Arabian. Around here they are not popular, and I’m fact last year here there were not even a dozen registered by the Canadian registry. When Truly was born there were a couple thousand being registered a yr. But these days seems no one wants horses. Too expensive. Once my girls are gone (I also have a thoroughbred who is 24), I won’t have any others, everything is incredibly expensive now - hay, feed, bedding, Vet, farrier. All very expensive. Not to mention I am getting too old for risking getting injured.
The chooks are more my speed now

I tell everyone the reason my eggs taste so great is because the chooks pick out the pieces of grain and such from the horses poop![]()
