How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

Something I always wondered about but don't have the answer to is whether the hatchery type Cream L:egbars lay a lighter blue egg than the Cream Legbars from a real breeder.

Oddly enough, all of my hens were hatched from eggs I purchased from a breeder. No one in my flock is from a hatchery. Looking forward to separating the legbars to then see what their offspring lay! These are some of the eggs they were hatched from.

How old are the babies? They will often start checking out nest boxes when they are getting ready to lay.

Not old enough to even think about laying. They are just brats. Some of the older girls pick on them so they fly back to the coop for safety and they like to all cram in the nesting boxes because it's cozy in there. I tried giving them a little box to hide in but they like the nesting boxes better. 🤪 I taught them to fly up on a roost if they are scared and so they do sometimes, but you know chickens don't play by the rules so they're still going in the boxes.
