how many husband building or remodeling chicken coops this weekend

Work is done on the coop but a few minor things and today is his day to do what he wants as he's done all the building while I've done the painting.

Of course, we stood outside a few minutes ago (the only 3 days old) and plotted the addition for spring and more chicks.

I think he has it as bad as I do.

Safe building to all.

Yesterday DH installed lights on a timer inside the coop. Hopefully we can get the girls to start laying again.

Today my kids & I painted the tractor a bright blue. DH says it is gaudy.

We plan to add painted on flowers too.

Oh yeah! He's been working on it off and on for a couple of weeks now. I spent the morning cooking: beef stew, meat loaf, carrot cake, so now it's his turn to go hammer in a few more nails. We're having a house built here also, and it's going to be a tossup to see whether I get into my new house before the chickens get theirs!

My husband out working on a coop?????

That's way too funny!
He doesn't have a 'mechanical' bone in his body. My son and I had to disassemble a free shed that we got and transport it here. Now he and I will have to reassemble it ourselves. LOL

After building 8 coops of varying size and shape this year, we (read as I) are resting until spring.

OK, resting consists of cleaning coops as of late.

Good luck on all the projects.

We just got finished with the "remodel". It was more of a "start over". My dad came up from Or. to help last weekend and we finished up with the little details this week and weekend. It is all that I asked for and more! I love it and I think the "girls" love it. Oh, and it has been raining hard for the last couple of days here in the PNW, so I now know that the hen house has no leaks! The covered run gets a little wet when it rains really hard but the sand seems to help. We got a really big tarp to help with the dampness in the run. I love my DH and dad! THey did such a good job!

My wonderful DH just finished a new dairy goat shed today. AND agreed to let me get 25 EE pullets. So he started another project.

I'm blessed with a handy husband who likes to build.
