How Many Nesting Boxes Needed?

I am so glad you asked this question! I was going to have to ask it soon too. I have 7 pullets and as of 2 days ago I have 2 laying. I built in 4 boxes originally when we first started with the flock and didn't know 3 would be cockerels. I assumed I would add more birds eventually and didn't want to add boxes later. Apparently I have way more than I need lol. Both layers right now use the same box!

My Roll Out Nest Box Mk3 is 3' wide and I've seen up to 5 hens in there at once so it's no joke.
