Of the dozen eggs we incubated, three hatched. They hatched on 10/1. I've heard one crow but didn't see which one it was, and friend thought all three might be cockerels. Can any of you help?

First, here are the parents - the hens are all barred rocks but the rooster is unknown (if anyone knows what he is I'd love to know)

Now the chicks
Chick 1 (Penny)

Chick 2 (Nutmeg)

Chick 3 (Pip - obviously the first to pip)

the others I'm leaning toward pullet put not 100% if they were pure barred rock I would be sure , hens are darker than roos

I am leaning towards all three being roosters. Not quite sure on number 2. Maybe female.

All three look like Roosters but, what are they crossed with?
They have small beards and Barred Rocks don't have beards.

Thanks for the replies. Based on the EE pic in the database, I think the father may be an EE, so that seems like a likely breed.

We were thinking the two small ones might be roosters but thought the lighter was a pullet (Nutmeg). Two of the hens from the mother generation were quite light colored like Nutmeg. I do have a home found for one rooster, so should I wait a bit before rehoming any, to see if I can tell for sure? And is there any way to tell for sure besides waiting? It seems that I've read posts here by members who've had hens crow, so is it solidly reliable that the one that crows is a rooster?

Thanks
Shannon
