How many of you are experiencing a drop in egg production?

Today I got an egg from one of my EEs! I read somewhere on here that apples stop them from laying and my hens have been eating apples. It's been several days since they've eaten one so maybe this is the reason?

This Sunday I put a light in my chicken coop, I have a timer on it, it turns on at 5:00 am and goes out at 7pm. I hope that my girls will start laying again. I too have had to buy eggs, which I don't like.

We've just come through a slow molt that lasted about a month. All hens are laying now and I have plugged in the layer lamp to increase daylight from 5 am - 8 am.

Yup, I've been getting fewer eggs. The days are already a lot shorter than they were even a month ago. It's time to rig up the light in the coop!

I have six BA's. They started laying in April this year. It took them awhile to start laying regularly.

My red star is still laying an egg every day. I don't think she's taken a day off since some time in August or maybe early September. She's a champ.

My Egyptian Fayoumis on the other hand.... She hasn't laid an egg in weeks. The white rock, buff Cochin and black australorp are slowing down.
