How many Trick or Treaters did you get?

Technically no Trick-or-Treaters, but my son brought home around 30 of his 8th grade classmates to warm up in front of the woodstove. It was around 30* and windy last night. We live on a long, dark driveway so we never get any official visitors.

We got two.

We live in town, but on a street with larger lots. The kids head for the developements to get more bang for their buck. Lots of houses close together means more candy in less time. Kids know the deal.

My DH feels slighted that we get very few trick-or-treaters. He says they think we are freaks because we have chickens in the back yard.

Leftover candy makes me feel

0, as well. Country living, I guess.

When we lived in a suburb, I used to get hundreds, because everyone trucked them in.

We have never had any kids since we moved, like many on the forum, to the boonies. We go into town to the in-laws to watch the kiddies. This year I passed 2 absolutely packed church parking lots (and a ton of spillovers on the vacant lot next door) doing trunk or treat celebrations. Then, the local malls give out candy to the children. My in-laws had maybe 30 kids come through, if that.

Usually the traffic is horrible on Halloween around here. This year, traffic was way, way down.

When I was a kid the communities often changed to Saturday night, to avoid Sunday evening trick-or-treating, but it was to give kids the extra weekend day to burn off the sugar high, instead of doing so for religious reasons. From a kid's standpoint, I loved the change. This year they kept to Sunday, due to the railings of the local paper (against "bible thumpers" - their slur, not mine). Go figure. Most of the restaurants and individuals held Halloween parties on Saturday night. I hope to the outrage of the PC crowd.

a few hundred. I am guessing at least 300 if not more, we had a HUGE cauldron FULL of candy and brimming over, its close to empty, and that was handing the lil ones 2 pieces, adultish ones 1 piece lol

I didn't think to count... whoops.

Went through 2 1/2 bags of Three Musketeers, 1 bag of Peppermints and 2 bags of Lollies.

Still, I don't think it was as many as last year. I know that several houses that were done up last year were not this year... neighbors across the street, and on both sides of them didn't do anything... and then the house two over on the East is for sale... donno about the rest of the block but it was definitely darker in our little corner. Bummer.

I talked to my neighbor this morning, 2 doors down. She said she had less than a couple dozen, was disappointed that she got so few. She couldn't figure out why she got so few. She sat out on her porch and watched them skip her house. We think it was cause she had no Halloween decorations up, although all her lights were on.. She is planning on remedying that today.
As a last laugh, I hung a witch windsock in the tree by my entrance. Forgot it was there and last night when I went out to grab a couple of decorations I didn't want sitting out in the rain. I stood up turned around and came face to face with the witch. My heart leaped, I jumped back, and dropped the decorations.

Wait... You're supposed to count?
Well, I went to my parents house for the annual haunted house we put up (non profit as there is too much legal nonsense before we can charge money). We opened up about a half hour late and people started lining up about 10 minutes before official Trick or Treating started. I think most of the town showed up and some folk from neighboring cities. There was a continuous stream of people from 5:30pm - 9pm, so if I had to guess I would say around 1000 people. Maybe more.
Everyone was very tired by the end of the night, but we all had fun. Wonderland was the theme this year, I got the role of Cheshire Cat.
