Hi all. I’m new here. I have been feeding my day old chicks layer crumble for the past week. I didn’t read up on what to feed them until now and have since switched to chick feed. Should I be worried about liver damage? What signs should I look for? I’m scared for the little ones! Thank you.

I wouldn't be worried. Some folks feed layer pellets exclusively to hens, roosters, and even chicks. But if you want peace of mind, go ahead and give them chick starter feed.
Ok good to know! I haven’t seen them slowing down at all and their poops seems normal. I switched to chick feed yesterday after researching up on it (oops). Thank you.

Hi
Welcome to Backyard Chickens! I agree with both of the above, I’m sure your chicks will be fine. I normally feed chick crumbs until about 3-4 months, then growers until they lay their first egg, then layers pellets, some ppl use all flock, it just depends on where you live and your preference.
