How much did you spend on your coop? **Update with pics on pg. 12**

$500 for my Royal Outdoor 4 x 7 vinyl shed and privacy fences and chain link fence all by Menards.

Not a bad deal but wished I had bought a bigger shed, the Windchester!

About $200 on the coop and run. A 4x6 house plus an 18 x 12 run. We used a lot of recycled material.

nope we have a 8 x8 coop with a 10 x 20 run and we spent around that much -so far- we are insulating it in fall and putting a heater in it-that way we can consolodate all birds for winter.

You did well for an 8X8.

If you don't believe me ...look at the price of pre-mades at Home Depot.

The cost of my coop and run is unknown. I have taken great lengths to make sure it stays that way!

I had an existing shed in my back yard. My hubby wanted to"do it up nice!" Man I should say so, with a heafty price tag of $300! LOL I think we have spent more on our chickens, than our kids this summer! So much fun though.

I think it all depends on the resources you have available, and how much time you want to spend searching for materials. We spent about 200-300, but ours is only about 4x8 playhouse coop, so its small. We used some recycled wood from pallets and shopped at a habitat store for used materials. So, it could have been much more than that!

You can always post ads on Craigslist for left over materials. Most likely won't find roofing or hardware cloth though, and that's what costs the most!

It all depends on timing, finding good deals and dumpstors diving.

On my 10x10' coop with block foundation and concrete floor with shingeled roof I spend about $300.00, but 85% to 90% were from trash.
On my 10'x40' run I spend alot, but I have all 14 gage welded wire and metal roof it was about $600.00.
On my 8'x8' addition coop I spend like $75.00 but most materials were from Dumpstors.

So it all depends on what you find and where you find it.

Don't feel bad, it is just happen That I work around construction for living, and that's how I find my buildingsmaterials. just good luck.
