...and now, you wait him out. A healthy chicken won't starve itself to death. When El Exigente realizes its that or nothing, that will be jus fine, thank you. You could wet it down some, to oatmeal like consistency. Sometimes they prefer it that way, sometimes not.

The roo is pretty PO'd about being fed the higher-protein crumble. But he's starting to come around a little. He's really quite a character. I give him the Flock Raiser, he picks at it & realizes that it's not scratch, then comes over and whines like he's in pain to try to convince me to give him something else. He makes this pitiful noise like a puppy that wants to go out. He would eat millet all day long if I fed it to him.
Well, at least he's tried some of the Flock Raiser now and is occasionally eating it.
