I'm not sure. I've never heard of that. Although I've heard differing things about the things in dog food that cause reptiles to have adverse reactions--one of the supposed causes is the red dye. Which may be found in fish food, as well. My crickets & mealworms eat potatoes, bananas and fresh greens. They also have some commerical "gut-loading" products that seem to work very well....
