How much is horse hay in your area? Both sq. bale and rounds.

Alfalfa square bales are around 2.00-3.50$ per bale here. Big round bales are going for 30$, though I don't pay as close attention to round bale costs. This is hay I got for my goats, not horses, goats are very picky about hay.

WoW... anyone up North want to bring down some hay....... LOL I'd love to get alfalfa hay for under $5 here it's $17-18. Square bale Coastal is $6.50, Round rolls $55 but price is going up due to availability,

North Eastern, Ohio is $2.50 - $3.50 for square bales. $30 and up for rounds. The quality isn't the best this year because of all of the rain. A lot more first cutting available than second cutting. And the first cutting seems to have been cut later than it should have.
I expect that prices will start dropping pretty soon because of the warmer winter the livestock wasn't burning through it as fast. I would still like to find some good second cut to last me through spring.
I couldn't afford to feed horses at Fla and Ca prices. How do you guys do it?
