I am doing the hardest thing in the world, incubating eggs. It’s so hard to wait. I wanna candle them, but not too much, about how many times would be too many times?

I have already killed one by candling too much. I’m doing home breeding, it’s a barred rock, and Cornish rock.

I have found out by the neck will be black and white, and the rest looked white.

I candled my eggs almost every day. I was extremely quick and careful. My incubator is also unique in that it's temperature doesn't fluctuate much when opened.

You can't kill an egg by candling it too much. Candling is holding a light up to the large end of the egg. Is that what you're doing?
Was this chick already dead when you cracked the egg?

Yes I was holding up a light, and it was already dead when I cracked it open.

What type of incubator do you have?
