How not to ship eggs!

I just received a email from this lady talking about a package she received horribly packed etc and that I would see how wonderfully she packs when I receive my package, I was going to do the nice thing.....If you don't have something nice to say then don't ........well this email kinda got to me can you all please help in gathering some links about packaging I will be sending her these links in the hope that the next person that purchases eggs from her is taken care of. I know there are alot of packaging things out there but I could never find the ones that I think were really great.........so if it would not be a bother I plan on emailing her in the morning......in the mean time I have what was left from her and those that Buckguy (Thanks Again) gave me for the experiment in get this 3 incubators I am also doing wet vs dry at the same time.....and testing another minibator that I made out of a Wipey Warmer so we shall see how things go.

PS I think that maybe Hubbie is letting the chicken vibes get to him but I plan on waiting until they are deep before I ask him about it.

*big sigh* As long as they keep making bubble-wrap,
I'll be a happy egg shipper.

There's a simple question you should ask before you buy eggs --- exactly HOW do you wrap / package eggs for shipping?
Oh, and another question that would be good to ask --- when were the eggs layed?

It's sad, with eggs being as fragile as they are in the first place --- a seller can send old eggs, not-fertile eggs, or poorly packaged eggs and blame a 'bad hatch' on rough handling by USPS.

Ask first, and you are less likely to be disaappointed.

In this case, I don't think it would have made any difference if every egg was laid within 15 minutes of shipping. That's a pretty sorry packing job, if you can even call it that.
I agree about the bubblewrap, Lisa! I use the stuff they wrap couches in; super-tough stuff!

If you think that is bad look at these pics.

I received 24 eggs. 14 of them were broken. The other 10 were internally destroyed.

I offered the seller some constructive criticism on packing (bubble wrap) and she just dismissed it. Said she has never had a problem shipping eggs like this before.

Fiberfill is really slippery against an egg surface. These eggs were just tossed all around inside of the egg cartons. They were smashed into each other. And getting the fiberfill off of the unbroken eggs was nearly impossible. Dried egg yolk sticks to fiberfill like hot glue.

Take care,

Tami

These are some that didn't make it box smelled so bad when I picked it up. The person left the ends of the wrap open and in transit the eggs bumped into each other. See the walmart bag in there for cushion?

FYI, I have received eggs from Speckledhen, Fluffy Silkies (Melanie) and Leon Valley, and all have done an exceptional job. You would think they were packing Faberge eggs! Thankyou, I now see what bad packing is. Karen

Those postings of smashed egg pics are pitiful...I have never seen eggs packaged for shipment like those...if I had received a box like any of those believe me the shipper would hear me voice my two cents and demand a refund...Anyone that would sell hatchings and ship like that is plain old cheap and wanting the $$.......
