The Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia!
before they start laying eggs?

before he can make that happen??

I have had an IB close to a year now and last month
we bought more peafowl in 2 purchases so our lone male
wouldn't be alone anymore....

so our 9 chickens, 47 guineas, 9 muscovy and 9 mixed ducks
now have 8 new friends....

(until I just typed this I had not noticed all the "9's" before...
I had just gave away some chickens...hmmmm)

guess two years old from what i know about peacocks, these are the first for us...
We have a small group gonna be two this year coming.

got 3 indian hens, 1 blackshoulder hen
and the male is a Cameo. The male is so sweet and we love watching him with his lil tail shaking around and strutting around at the hens, he even does it to my wild easterns in the pen next to his. Cant wait to try to hatch some this coming 2012, be intresting to see what kind of pea chicks they all produce..

Males usually are sexually mature at 2 years old. Peahens can be yearlings, but most peahens will lay at 2 yrs!
