How old was the oldest eggs you ever hatched out??

I collect for 2 weeks and not had problems with the eggs. Even if a not so good hatch I mark the eggs to day collected and there is no difference in hatchability of older to new in that time. An earlier post stated they've held eggs for 2 weeks and 5 days and I've read in other threads people not having problems with three weeks. It matters how you store them and that you turn them several times a day. If not stored in too warm an area and turned they keep quite well. I store mine at 65F and turn twice a day though 55-60F and turning 3 times or more is recommended.

I've but partridge eggs that she layed 12 days ago and I candled them they have babies :)

My eggs that were 2 1/2 weeks old are hatching as we speak.

Thanks for the info this will be so helpful to others, i couldn't find info on it anywhere, :)

I had mine stored in my closet because that was the coolest room in the house. It stayed about 60 to 65 degrees, and I also put a paper towel over the eggs box and misted it to keep humidity up as its very dry in my house in the winter.YES ITS STILL WINTER HERE!!!.16 degrees at 6am this morning.I only turned once a day.So glad others are posting so we can get more info on this.

You realize this is only care of eggs in your control and your knowledge of age...

If you really want to see how long an egg can be viable for look into the treads of hatching fertile eggs from the store...now that's not been turned and there's no exact knowledge of age though you can bet most are about a month or more. Hatchability of those eggs I dont' know as I don't play with them but there are many and many threads of those who do. Thinking Trader Joes and other threads of that type. Check them out and it really gives you a glimpse of how viral a fertile egg is.

Could not stand it any longer, candled 3 of them 2 were 17 days old and one was 15 days old when I put them in the bator, veining in 2 of them of not sure of the other.but the veining was in the 17 day old ones.
