I’m just curious about this especially since I’ve seen a lot of people on here with birds that are in there teens so who was or is your oldest chicken
My oldest hen will turn ten this spring she’s an EE that I got as a day old chick in 2012
Here’s a picture of her I took last summer

My chickens are nowhere near being that old.. but I am curious, is she still laying at that age?
No i might have gotten an egg from her last spring but she’s very been a good layer so I don’t think she’s layed much since she’s was much younger
Her sister though who passed away in October layed right up until she died

My oldest ever is an Easter-egger who will be 12 in early April and is still kickin'. Sadly, her last remaining broodmate, a Wyandotte hen, passed away at the end of last year, so she's the only one to make it this far. As far as I'm aware, she hasn't laid any eggs in a couple years now.

Next oldest set will be 11 in May, three more Easter-egger hens. Then I have a Partridge Rock going on 10 in June, a Lakenvelder, Ancona, and Exchequer Leghorn who will be 9 in May, and a Silkie rooster who will be 8 in October this year. The rest of my flock is 5 or younger right now. 😊

I had 2 Silver laced Wyandotte hens reach 14. Born in 2006 and both died in Winter of 2020. But not only that, 6 of them reached at least 10 years old, so I guess it was just a really good batch haha
