I’m just curious about this especially since I’ve seen a lot of people on here with birds that are in there teens so who was or is your oldest chicken
My oldest hen will turn ten this spring she’s an EE that I got as a day old chick in 2012
Here’s a picture of her I took last summer

She looks JUST like my first ever hen, Chickadee, did, right down to the expression. What a sweet girl!

I just lost my oldest a couple days ago - Muffin, a Salmon Favorelles hen. Don't remember her exact age, but I know she was around 11 or 12. She passed away in her sleep.

I’m sorry for your loss :(
And I love that are hens look similar any chance you have any pictures of chickadee

I haven't had a chicken die of old age yet, my oldest chickens are my first 3 chickens, they are turning 7 this spring. One of them still lays some but NOT often, one doesn't lay anymore, and one is a rooster. My profile pic is the hen that doesn't lay anymore.

My EE hen, Oyster Cracker, looks very similar too, but without a beard or muffs. She's about 4 years old and is still laying eggs!

My oldest is an Easter egger 9 years old and just laid her first egg of this spring season. The next one is 7 or 8 which is an easter eggers, and lastly a Rhode island about 5. We are introducing some pullets in with them this year. Sadly couldnt find any easter eggers (those are my favorites)
