How to be awarded medals?

I’m just wondering what it takes to get a medal. Friend, Educator, Greeter....
I have seen that it isn’t the amount of likes or posts, so I am wondering how to get those.

I believe you have to be nominated but I could be mistaken.

Cool! I haven’t seen that when I click on profiles though. How would you do that?
