Hey everyone, I have a friend who has two hens who have been broody for about a month now, and he's concerned over the lack of eggs and wants to break them of their broodiness. Does anybody have methods that will work? Thanks

The air circulation under the hen is supposed to help. So if you put your chicken in a hutch or cage with no "nest" available (wire floor for example)- that is supposed to do it. It may take a week. I tried for a day or two in the past and sometimes it stopped the brooding and sometimes it didn't.

Make sure that predators cannot get the hen's toes if it is a wire floor. Put something there so the predators cannot reach through and grab the hen.

All I have left available is a dog cage/crate and that is what I would use now if I needed to. Just a change of scenery and no nest around may do it.
