how to care for silkies properly?

I had a suspicion that silkies were taking over the world. Mine already has me brainwashed into making a special trip outside each night to sit her up on the roost.

I was wondering if someone can tell me the difference between a splash silkie and a partridge

I was happy to find this thread! Much to my surprise, I've fallen in love with chickens after purchasing 4 gold sex links last year. I just ordered 6 assorted silkies hatching eggs and can't wait to receive them!

Hi BYC friends,
I read that Silkies cannot navigate ramps or fly. How do they roost at night? Or do they roost at all?
Thanks!

I don't know about the roosting yet but my 2 month old silkies navigate a 5 foot long ramp pretty well now. We have 2 a buff hen named Lavender and a black or blue roo named Dark Vader (yes Dark the 7 year old named him)
