Here is a nice link to make your brooder including feeding station, swing, and perches. All made by hand. Another nice effect is a Chick peck n play ball. I bought a nice cheap one from MPC. Some cabbage leaves in there are nice torn into small pieces. Don’t forget Chick grit.

For safety I would remove anything that's string/rope, looks to be a few pieces in there, to ensure none of the chickens swallows a piece. Like the swing would be safer if you used wire to hang it.

The string we used is very strong, but thanks for the tip

Update: Chicks have settled in well, scratching around and playing. They are still a bit overwhelmed about all the space that they have so they're only using the area with the bedding. I'm sure they can use the running-around area when they are older

I used that sort of cage wire for my pool brooder last year. Just FYI, they are/will be able to roost right on it!

Good idea! I will try to find some
