How to empty sour crop in a rooster?

My bantam/old English game rooster mix has a bit of leftover food in his crop despite having not been fed in 5 days. The crop is about the size of a golf ball and feels pretty squishy but I can still make out the individual seeds in it. He has not stopped using the bathroom, so I know things are being digested but I fear everything is moving much too slowly and I need to treat the fungi now. Does anyone know of any ways to clear the crop completely so that I may start treatment?

Most chickens poop in the coop and run. Your chickens must be very special if they "use the bathroom". Do they have their own or do they share yours?

Kidding aside, it sounds as if your rooster may have an obstructed crop along with growing fungus. I would treat the impaction first with oil and massage and then when the solid lump breaks up, treat for sour crop.

Here's my article on crop disorders to further instruct you on how to treat. https://www.backyardchickens.com/ar...w-to-know-which-one-youre-dealing-with.73607/
