How to get my chooks to shut up!

What are some quiet free-ranging breeds?
My buff Orpingtons don't make too much ruckus. My barnevelder are very quiet, but they also don't go too far. My cochins are quiet, and my Wyandotte don't make much noise to name a few.

My noisy birds are my Ancona, polish, and my single Australorp. Sometime noise making is an individual trait despite breeds. I also have a bunch of breeds that fall in between.

Avoiding breeds that are considered flighty or those mixed with them is a good start to a quieter flock, although they generally are the best for egg production, so if you are after eggs you may have to put up with the noise.

I also find younger birds to be noisier. The older mine get the less they get reactive to stuff
