It is different here you can get shot going onto someone else's property and picking their food. Of course most will let you if you ask. But I live in the black belt of Alabama and our soil is a heavy clay and I am told that blueberries will not grow here. So I want to try some in large pots and see how they do. I have to drive over an hour to get to a nursery to buy plants so I mostly buy them online and have them delivered.
Yeah, and in Finland there has actually been discussion about limiting the rights to only include private persons. There are berry picking companies who come in and completely clean pick large areas, using their legal right to do that. If only they would stick to decent amounts from one place, no-one would have any complaints.
That's not the problem - only 5% of all berries that the forests of Finland produce annually are actually picked. They would just need to spread out a bit when doing the picking.
Peat moss is good, and other humus, and maybe some decomposed pine needles. You could just put some sand underneath that, but you'll need at least 8-12 inches of the growth medium to make it sustainable (if your blueberries like similar spots as ours). If you want, I can dig up a spot that the chickens have destroyed and try to get some pictures of the layers in the soil.

I weighed the contents before freezing them, about 350 grams.
The lingonberries seem to be doing well too, in a month or two they will ripen and turn red.
